About CBD

  • Both CBD and THC are well known for delivering strong results, and they work best together. Early research suggests that so, too, may many of the lesser known cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in cannabis. What’s more, these compounds tend to amplify one another’s effects, meaning they’re more powerful in combination.

We provide a range of CBD-THC ratios so you can get the effect you want based on your personal preferences.

  • The ratios of our products refer to the amount of CBD vs. THC in each:

    1:1 High CBD, High THC
Our 1:1 is designed for experienced cannabis users who can tolerate more THC for a balanced feeling with some psychoactivity.

    2:1 High CBD, Medium-High THC
The 2:1 ratio is great for experienced cannabis users seeking powerful daytime or nighttime comfort and a calm feeling with less psychoactivity. This ratio is designed for people looking for help unwinding.

    4:1 High CBD, Medium THC
Our 4:1 is a strong daytime or nighttime ratio designed for occasional stress relief. It is great for experienced cannabis users with some tolerance for THC with a little psychoactivity.

    8:1 High CBD, Medium-Low THC
If you’re looking for some good daytime comfort, we recommend our 8:1 ratio. Experienced cannabis users will find comfort throughout the day with little psychoactivity. This ratio is great for those who are looking for whole-body wellness and occasional stress relief.

    18:1 High CBD, Low THC
A ratio for all levels, our 18:1 is designed for novice or expert cannabis users seeking daytime comfort. Day or night, 18:1 can be your everyday companion. Our 18:1 ratio can start your day off right or help you wind down and easily drift off to sleep.

    40:1 Extra-High CBD, Low THC
If you’re canna-curious, this is the right ratio for you. This ratio is for novice cannabis users seeking strong CBD comfort of the body with little psychoactivity of the mind.

    • A full-spectrum extract pulls much more than just CBD from the cannabis plant. It includes CBD oil, any other cannabinoids, terpenes, and sometimes even additional plant lipids or other compounds. Quite literally, the extract contains the full spectrum of compounds that can be beneficial overall wellness. Learn more here.

    • A psychoactive substance is any chemical that produces mind-altering effects like changes in mood, perception, cognition, or behavior. Non-psychoactive products still produce feelings within the body without altering the perception of the mind. THC has psychoactive properties for which each person has a different tolerance, whereas CBD is non-psychoactive.

Care By Design’s ratio products have different levels of CBD and THC so that you can tailor your experience to your liking while getting the full benefits of cannabis.

    • Hemp and cannabis both share the taxonomic classification of Cannabis sativa. Within the United States, plants with less than 0.3% THC by dry weight are labeled hemp; plants with more than 0.3% THC are labeled cannabis.

    • You will find a “best by” date on the package label. The shelf life is one year, depending on how the product is stored. We recommend you store Care By Design products in a cool place away from direct sunlight.

    • Care By Design’s CBD oil is not strain specific. Rather, it’s formulated from a proprietary blend of high CBD strains to ensure that you get the right balance of CBD to THC every time.

    Finding CBD

    Using CBD

    • Yes, cannabis is just as effective if ingested or taken with food. Our only caution is that it will be slower to take effect (up to two hours) and will last longer (4-8 hours).

    • Unfortunately, Care By Design is not qualified to provide medical advice for your beloved pet. Project CBD has published an interview with Dr. Gary Richter, Claws and Effect: Cannabis Medicine for Pets that you may find informative.

    • If you’re new to cannabis therapeutics, we recommend you start low and go slow! Check out our Beginner's Guide to CBD here.

    • “Vaping” is short for “vaporization.” It refers to a method of cannabis consumption where the user inhales cannabis “vapor.” To create this vapor, the active compounds in cannabis are heated at low temperatures. Unlike smoking, no combustion or burning takes place at these lower temperatures.

    Troubleshooting

    • If you believe a product is defective, please return it to the dispensary where you purchased it. Many dispensaries will exchange it for a new one, if it’s defective.
